Alénore
This brand manufactures in the EU. As a result of EU/UK free trade agreements, there are no import duties on delivery to the UK or to any EU country. US customers do not pay any import duties on orders below $800.
Infusing French-girl chic into global style, vegan handbag brand Alénore handcraft their designs locally in France. Born from the decades-old friendship of the founders, this is a brand that values transparency, artisanship, and a commitment to ethics.
“We wanted to create a brand together that resembles us, that takes our values into account. The ecological, ethical, human and local dimensions are at the heart of this common project.”
Founders
Old friends Noémie Flamant and Anne-Laure Holsteyn had no experience in the field of making handbags – but they knew they wanted to create a brand that would reflect their values. After meticulous consideration and market research, Alènore was born in 2020.
Materials
Alénore uses Uppeal apple leather, a soft and supple yet durable material made using waste from the apple juicing industry. It contains approximately 50% apples. Cotton is also used in the range. The brand is free from PVC and sources its materials from Italy and France.
Production
The brand manufactures its designs locally in France, and the founders visit the manufacturer regularly to ensure ethical working conditions.
People
Alénore's policy on workers' rights in its supply chain includes fair pay, good working conditions, and respect for the working hours. The founders have conversations with employees to ensure this is followed. All employees are paid a living wage.
Animals
Alénore is a PETA-Approved Vegan brand.
Packaging
Recyclable cardboards and envelopes are used in the brand's packaging. The bags also come in a reusable tote bag.
